French bohemian vintage

When going for an interior décor that is of an antique style, the whole point about it is that the decorative items don’t match. When looking at this gorgeous home of a French bohemian vintage style with pale pastels and quirky style clashes, you have to look more than once to notice every piece of the decoration puzzle, which makes it more interesting.

You can’t “fake” this sort of style though, but if you’re looking to create a similar style you’re going to have to drag yourself to several flea markets and auctions, or perhaps look through your grandma’s old collections.

The style clashes almost create a contemporary look as a whole, but when looking closer you’ll find all the historic items from different eras, which are sure to leave you amazed. The environment gets more exciting when certain items don’t really match, and they stand out from the crowd. Plus, they make an excellent conversation starter.

Distressed wood combined with brass and pastels…
What do you think of this French bohemian style?

O'hoy sailor! Nautical home collection by Next

I don’t usually feature just one shop in a blogpost, but I’ve just got to show you the latest summer collection by Next!
I was walking around in the next Next store in Leeds Trinity shopping centre the other week, and I am completely in love with their home range.
Not so much the furniture (they’re just over priced in my opinion) but I absolutely adore their decorative pieces.
Photo frames, signs, candle holders… you name it!

I would buy most things from their home collection if I could just afford it, and if I could fit it in my house!
They always have a few different ranges out, and they’ve launched a number of summery collections for this season. The one that really speaks to me is their nautical range. I just love adding a bit of seaside feeling to your home, and especially in the summer.
With Leeds being right in the middle of the country with no sea in sight, this collection is a great way to increase that summer feeling.

Let me know what you think of it! :)

Spice up your room with a creative bookcase

Looking to spice up your living room, but don’t know how?

Why not go for a creative bookcase? This will definitely change the look of your room, and it will be a brilliant conversation starter!

Big or small, irregular shapes or straight but interesting lines…

I’ve done some digging, and found some amazing bookcases that I really wouldn’t mind adding to my home.

Which one of the below is your favourite?

I think I’m leaning towards the free standing flower shaped white bookcase in photo number 5, or the one just below that which leans to the side.

Baroque wallpaper and a purple bedroom

Remember a while ago when I wrote a post about Baroque style wallpaper and that I was planning on redecorating our bedroom... well, now we've finally done it!
In the photo above you can see the colour and pattern we went for. All purple, like I said! What do you think?
The bedroom already had a purple colour scheme, but now it's all matching properly.

Floating shelf from IKEA, Swedish "Sov Gott" sign (meaning "sleep well") from 2 Be Interior.

White and purple satin bedding with flower details from Dunelm Mill, and a white "Dream" pillow from The White Company.

 Scented block candles from Ikea.
Fabric and straw lamp from Yellow Sunrise in Corn Exchange, Leeds.
Black and silver vase, and faux flowers from the Range.
Purple, oriental, hanging lanterns from Indiska.

So this is the complete result of my newly styled bedroom, in purple, black, white and silver.
It's such a great feeling when you finish decorating a room, and I am just so happy with this.

"Pillow chocolate" review for Millennium Hotels

A bit of a random post, but this is the case; You know when you stay at a fancy hotel and there is a piece of chocolate placed on your pillow, or on your coffee tray… Who decided for that exact type of chocolate to be the official hotel chocolate? Well, I just got the chance to have a say in this!

I, along with other UK bloggers, have been selected to review and rate luxury chocolate from Hotel Chocolat for the hotel chain Millenium Hotels. Exciting stuff! I was sent a selection of chocolates that me and my boyfriend happily tried out this weekend. These were in the goodybag:

Salted caramels - oozingly soft caramel filled chocolates beautifully balanced with a pinch of sea salt.
Drops gemstones - pure chocolate fusions of white and dark chocolate that melt on the tongue.
Billionare's shortbread - a generous blend of chocolate, caramel, cookies and silky smooth praline.
Eton mess - a timeless classic with strawberry and vanilla chocolate, cookies, meringue and strawberry pieces.
Smiley face lolly - solid milk chocolate lolly.

Let’s start with my least favourite out of these 5; the salted caramels were really not for me. 1 – cause I’m not a fan of caramel, and 2 – they were salty?! Not a hit for me, but my boyfriend rated these as his favourite. Also, the Eton mess… it was way too sweet, and didn’t taste like chocolate at all, so I don’t know why they call it chocolate.

Over to my favourite! The billionare’s shortbread! It was delicious! Yummy, with both crunchy and soft bits in it. What a dream! I definitely vote this one as Millenium Hotels’ new official “pillow chocolate”!

An honourable mention though to the drops gemstones which were very yummy and just melted on your tongue.

I just wanted to show you these pretty cups in which we enjoyed our coffee to go with the chocolate. These pretty bohemian looking cups are from the Swedish interior and fashion shop Indiska. If you’re a fan of colourful things with bohemian and Indian inspired patterns this shop is definitely for you.
